The SMT PMM Extension uses an adhesive heat shrink over the threaded parts of the thread rod probe.
 
Order of installation: 
1. Pre-drill pilot hole to just 1/4" of the probe length into the wood.
2. Insert the probe in to the pilot hole.
3. Connect sensors to the DAQ.
